Undoubtedly, the youths in any society are the determinants of its success which explains why youthful age is very crucial in our nation. This is the reason our leaders must build the youth than any other things.
Dr. Munirudeen Salaudeen Riyadhi said this while delivering lecture at a program organized by Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education branch on January 29, 2019. Dr. Riyadhi discussed ‘Islamic view on youth’.
The program tagged Fahmudeen was held on January 29, 2019 at EFT Hall, AOCOED with the theme ‘2019 GENERAL ELECTION: THE ROLE OF THE YOUTH.’
According to the Amir of the society, Mallam AbdulRasheed Siddiq, Fahmudeen is a program organized to address societal issues as it affects Islam. Hence, the need to address 2019 election from Islamic point can’t be overemphasized as general election is less than a month.
Dr. Riyadhi continued: ‘For instance, some of the old men you see today begging on the road are the architect of their misfortune by neglecting their youthful age. Thus, their old age is paying for it.’
‘In a popular narration, God will asked every man how he spent his youthful age. The prophet said: be mindful of your youthful age before the old age. Anyone who wastes his youthful age is preparing to suffer in life. A Muslim youth must prepare in all ramifications before old age.
He furthered urged the youth to be an epitome of knowledge and character. “Any youth who deviates from the right path can’t be trusted to reform our society. Take a clue from the life of prophet Ibrahim when Allah raised him. How he was able to invite his people to total submission to Allah. Remember, all the prophets were called while in their youthful age.”
It was gathered that Hon. AbdulLateef AbdulHakeem who ought to discuss the theme of the program was represented by Shakirudeen Taiwo Esq.
